Am a specialist in Marxist theory, am radical, but unorthodox...and the more I have a look at the fake Marxists (like cpm in India) or the history of communist party controlled states worldwide, or the crude, half-literate, philistinic and very aptly named vulgar Marxists (like most naxals of India), the more I realize that there is a serious problem with the world communist movement which needs to be diagnosed, and that is our first and foremost task...
Welcome to my profile. This is Tamal Dasgupta. Assistant Professor of English at a Delhi University college and researcher in Marxist literary theory.
Oh, and by the way, though I am an academician, I never had a godfather or a godmother, I was never a sycophant and I didn't have to butter my way up to this profession (in fact I always have an uncanny tendency of striking up fights with the big, the ugly and the powerful). Anyone who knows that to what extent academics suffer from nexus, nepotism and nasty favoritism wil understand the meaning of this achievement.
I hav been blessed with a wife who shares the same kind of values, and inspite of refusing to align herself all sorts of power nexus which manifest academics, she too has entered academics in her own rights, without any backdoor recommendations.
We pity those who became lapdogs and sold their souls dirt-cheap to buy a recommendation and got an mphil or a lectureship or some soaps in Kolkata.
